Better Late Than Never

Okay so here are my picks from FrightFest '09, I know I'm almost 2 months late but most of these films still haven't been released so I figured I can still get away with it...

1) The Horseman - A brutal Australian revenge thriller. This was my favourite film of the festival. Out on DVD March 2010.

2) Millennium (or The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) - I didn't have high hopes for this, and it's not technically a horror film but I was totally blown away. I hadn't read the book so can't coment on how they compare, but I abslutely loved this film. Still no UK release date for this.

3) Dread - I read this Clive Barker short story about 15 years ago, and out of all the stories in The Books of BLood this (and Pig Blood Blues) was one that really stuck with me. There are a few changes made to the film version, but I think they worked for the better and it still retains it's core bleakness and brutality. No UK release date as of yet for this either.

Honerable mentions (ie worth sticking on your lovefilm/netflix): Heartless, House of the Devil, Coffin Rock, Trick r Treat, Pontypool, I Sell the Dead.
